I've started a course in writing.  It's through Open Universities Australia and is called Creative and Professional Writing.  One of the first tasks is to create a haiku. 

I remember writing haiku in High School.  My English Literature teacher, Sister Mary, had us write poetry and prose and read our work in front of the class.  I was terrified at first, but I loved the writing and found the speaking easier when I was happy with what I wrote.
